Releasing negative emotions

It is not easy to deal head on with your negative emotions, it is essential to deal with them for both our mental and physical health and well-being.  We need to deal with the anger, hurt, hate, fear and anxiety, if we let them fester and do not tackle them they turn on us create self hate, worthlessness, low self-esteem and self-pity.  They rob us of our energy our motivation, make the simple everyday tasks most of us take for granted seem impossible.  We get the “it is all my fault” the “I can not do this” the “everyone is against me” these are all the negatives festering and growing inside us, the emotions that control and defeat, immobilize and harm.

Toxic, negative, self-defeating emotions have one cause — not knowing how to deal with pain. Pain is normal in life, but suffering isn’t. When we do not know how to deal with pain, we suffer.

Being free from your negative emotions is one of the most important actions you can take to improve your mind and physical health. Unfortunately, it is also one of the most neglected areas in many of our lives.

Many people fall in to the self-defeating pattern of  “this is the way I am”, “I am not good enough”

All emotions are created and born in the childhood amnesia stage of our growth, this stage of our growth up to the age of about 5, during this stage of the brains growth our memories are formed and stored, in general we have little recollection of these events hence the term childhood amnesia.  We learn hate, anger, fear, and love at his age.  We are not born with emotions as we are not born with other parts of our personality that we portray later in life we learn them.

My first feelings of sadness that I had never actually thought of until I did my personal development course and worked with my coach are linked to an event when I was three and half years old, my brother was born prematurely and was in an oxygen tent in hospital.  Working with my coach we went back to this event and the birth of my emotion of sadness,  all other times in life when I felt this emotion are linked to the time it was created.  We do not deal with the event or the situation now, we need to trace the emotion back to its birth and learn from that event.

I learnt that the sadness and the event were not my creating, not my fault and I could have had no bearing on it, I learnt that I can accept that emotion of sadness that I had then and when I follow that emotion on its journey through my life I can accept it for what it is at all stages and occurrences of it.

This is true of all emotions that we hold, they are not the event, they are not the now they are emotions we can look at, learn from and release.

If you have negative emotions in your life that you wish to release for a better mental and physical life you can.

There are several techniques that can be used to help you, guide you and for you to have the life you deserve.  You already have the answers and knowing the right questions can help you.

If you want to talk about anything that is bothering you, any negative aspects of your life that you want to release to build a better mental and physical life then the first and biggest step is admitting this and asking for help.

It is your choice make it a positive one.
